The Transtions Lifestyle System, taught by Stacey Austin of Points Acupuncutre in Newfane, focuses on Low Glycemic Index eating – foods that work for you, not against you – as well as behavior modification and body composition. It is a sensible program that allows you to eat real foods and manage your weight in a healthy way.
With the Transitions Lifestyle System, you are provided with sound educational material, a daliy journal, healthy food options and clinically proven supplements for your specific weight loss needs.
We all know that restricitve diets DO NOT work, and are practically impossible to permanently maintain. What does work is Transitions Lifestyle System, which is designed to help you abandon your old habits in favor of making better, more healthy choices that stick with you for a lifetime.
How does Transitions Lifestyle System work?
It employs the science of the glycemic index (GI) to help you plan healthy meals and snacks. The glycemic index is a system that ranks foods by how much they raise blood sugar. The more a food raises blood sugar, the more insulin your body releases in response. High GI foods can cause your body to store more fat. They can also cause the “sugar crash” that leaves you sleepy and tired and more likely to overeat. This low GI approach to eating is a scientifically proven method that can keep you fuller longer, give you more energy and prevent overeating, all of which allow weight loss to occur.

Take a look a this Microplane® Adjustable Coarse Grater from The Pampered Chef. I saw one at a show hosted by Vonda Westcott, Independent Consultant for The Pampered Chef.
It’s a sharp, stainless Microplane® blade that quickly grates foods into your recipes. It’s ideal for cheeses, such as mozzarella and cheddar, and fresh fruits and vegetables, like apples, zucchinis and potatoes.
One of its distinctive features is the easy-grip handle that is adjustable so you can use the grater in easel or extended positions – how cool is that? And convenient.
It has nonskid feet that keep it steady, and it includes a protective storage cover. And best of all, it is dishwasher-safe.
Take a look at these and other great products that you can get from Vonda’s store at The Pampered Chef. There are always fantastic host specials too so if you want to host a party, call her to see what this months’ gifts and specials for you are.

The word about Maedl’s Woodcrafts has traveled to Rochester!
Around the showroom
Richard Maedl installed a beautiful kitchen in the Rochester, NY area and the neighbors are all talking about how great it looks.
His latest kitchen included a unique rope knot edging design on the counter top that really makes this kitchen stand out.
The proud owners of this new Maedl kitchen were not only happy with the beautiful craftsmanship, their custom made kitchen was less expensive than the two other estimates they had gotten from chain home improvement stores.

It’s easy to understand the difference between a spot and a stain. If you’re not sure, read on.
You can find a spot with your eyes closed. What do I mean? A spot is a discoloring material that has attached itself to the outside of a fiber, which can usually be removed using either chemical or mechanical means.
A stain has penetrated into a fiber causing visible discoloration. In other words, a spot is on the outside of the fiber and a stain is on the inside or has become a part of the fiber. Since a stain is a foreign matter on the fiber, you can feel it with your eyes closed. On the other hand, a stain has penetrated into the fiber, therefore, you couldn’t find it with your eyes closed.
There are different kinds of spots. Solvent Soluble spots are generally oily or greasy in nature. Water Soluble spots encompass a range of materials including food spills, waste material and body fluids. Non-Soluble spots may be composed of sand, metal shavings, crushed shells or grit that is best removed by continuous vacuuming.
Any of the previous spots will not become a permanent stain if you address them as soon as possible. The worst thing you can do is to allow a spot to sit on a carpet for any length of time. For assistance, don’t hesitate to call me.

Well, I did my part. I tasted these fresh baked dinner rolls that come with your salad at the Alternative Grounds Caffe, 17 Main Street in Middleport. They were delicious.
I knew I was in for a treat when I walked in and the smell of freshly baked bread greeted me. I was only going in for a coffee, but ordered a salad and roll because I had to have what I was smelling. (I even took a photo of them – see left.)
Now that the ladies at the AG are baking their own breads and rolls, they need some feedback on what you prefer. When you order your sandwich or salad, be sure to let them know what you think of the bread served with your meal. I gave my thumbs up for the dinner rolls. And then, I tried guessing what I was tasting that was a bit different…
I thought it was butter. It was not. The delicious taste was from another mystery ingredient that you can find out if you go to the shop and ask – I am not telling. My mom always told me that it is good for a woman to be a bit mysterious.
