It was a warm June evening, when an former co-worker invited me to dinner with some friends of his. As we attempted to dock his boat in the canal to grab dinner, my inability to toss a rope to tie up the boat still gets a smile when I boast my incredible rodeo roping skills. Who would have guessed that date would be the beginning of a really wonderful relationship?
Later that year, it was my birthday and my boyfriend had made reservations for a nice dinner on the waterfront. It was an unusually warm November evening. After a scrumptious dinner, we walked to the along the waterfront to the lighthouse.
It was the first birthday we celebrated together. We had been dating just six months so it was very unexpected when we reached the top of the lighthouse, had walked to the different sides to take in the view and he dropped to one knee and asked me to be his wife. He slipped a diamond ring onto my finger as I said yes. It was so dark I couldn’t see what it looked like. It was such a long walk back to car anticipating what I would see.
When we reached the car, I was finally able to see the most beautiful diamond ring I had ever seen – and it was mine. I have looked at this endless circle that represents our unending love every day since then with the same mesmerizing awe!

- Speed Marketing Event possibly at Lynoaken Wed. March 7th, “Wednesday at The Winery”. Vendors would pay a fee of about $15.00. Restaurants will be asked if they want to feature some food samples. Set up would start at 5:00pm. Medina Business Association is interested in doing a combined event. Come with any other ideas you may have. More details to be worked out at the next meeting.
- Winterfest Steering Committee – Helen Feron is not able to continue as head of the committee, but will help with the transition. Our guests, Joan Nachtrub and Charlotte Doerfel from the Gasport Lions Club are considering taking over the organizing of the event. About $3200 –$3400 in the account is available to them. The Winterfest Treasurer will provide the financial info. The Roy-Hart Superintendent is willing to support the event by providing custodial services, tables etc. They would need the help and support of RHBPA members as well. Consider joining in the fun of this event as a vendor to promote your products or to help where needed.

A Stroka Gene-us Alpacas is a small family farm in Middleport, New York which is 20 minutes south of Lake Ontario next to the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge. We are five minutes from the Tonawanda Indian Reservation and in the heart of apple country, and only 15 minutes north of the I-90 at exit 48A.
All of our alpacas are ARI registered, BVD free and health checked with monthly wormings. At this time, we have 31 alpacas and our concentration is on raising great quality colored animals.
We have a farm store attached to the barn with viewing windows into the barn that is fully stocked with alpaca products from local, national, and Peruvian artisans. And you can see and purchase alpaca items online in our store.
