The Middleport Free Library has announced that it has not received any petitions from members of the community seeking to be placed on the ballot for election to either of the two Library Board Trustee positions to be voted on at its June 4, 2012 annual meeting.
There are two Board positions with terms expiring on June 30, 2012. Current trustee, Carolyn Wagner, has notified the Library Board that she would not seek re-election to the Board. Current Trustee, Amy Monti, has been nominated for re-election in accordance with Library bylaws.
As there is only one candidate for the two expiring Trustee positions, the election is not contested. In accordance with the Library bylaws, at the annual meeting to be held on June 4, 2012, the Secretary will cast one ballot for Amy Monti. Her new three (3) year term will commence on July 1, 2012.
Advertising for interested applicants for these positions was placed in the local newspaper on April 5th and 19th, along with a notice on the Library’s website and at the circulation desk. Interested applicants were required to submit a valid petition to the Library no later than 30 days prior to the annual meeting (or due by May 5, 2012). There were no petitions received by the Library.

May 27 – “The Final Salute” A Memorial Day Tribute at Royalton Bible Church, 8457 Bunker Hill Road, Gasport NY.
Memorial Day is not about the living, it is about the men and women who have died so that we, the living, can have life and enjoy the freedoms we have. In this very special worship service we invite the area veteran’s organizations, to help us pay tribute our fallen heroes, and honor them with “A Final Salute” at Royalton Bible Church.
The service will include the posting of our nations colors, the singing of patriotic songs, special music, a tribute to the MIA/POW Table, A patriotic DVD presentation, a message of hope from the Bible, the call of veterans, the final salute, firing squad, taps, and prayer.
This is one of two patriotic services that our church puts on in honor of our veterans, and it is always a moving service for everyone who attends. The worship service is followed by a picnic style lunch where our veterans are the honored guest.

Unfortunately, she loved it in a consuming kind of way. She ate it.
I loved my alpaca hat because not only was it super warm, it was super soft. I don’t like wool, so I was skeptical when Mary Ann of A Stroka Gene-us told me that alpaca wool is different than lamb’s wool. It has shorter fibers or some such thing, and it isn’t itchy.
Well feeling was believing and I bought this great hat, which is called a “chullo” hat, and wore it walking the dog all last year.
The dog must have been secretly coveting my hat the whole time because the minute I left it in her reach, she ate it. She devoured the tassels completely and finished off one ear flap before I discovered her taste for alpaca was a bit too literal.
Thank heavens that I could replace it with another hat from A Stroka Gene-us. I will not be leaving this prized possession in the dog’s vicinity as I have learned that she has a thing for my alpaca hat as much as I do.

Kids get 2 FREE games of bowling all summer long in 2012 at Medina Lanes.
