According, to Manta, the online marketing company for small business, lumpy mailings really get attention. It seems that lumpy mailings, when you put something other than a flat sheet of paper in an envelope, are noteworthy when received. When this type of marketing materials, other than a flat letter–such as a small product sample or a ball with your logo on it–and are sent in the mail, they get opened. One example might be this bandage dispenser available from Summit Print & Mail in Lockport.
A bulky envelope will make the recipient curious enough to, at the very least, open the mailing to find out what’s inside. Just satisfying the curiosity could give you a leg-up on the competition.
Where to you get lumpy mailings? That is easy – at Summit Print and Mail.
They have a complete website to find just the right item to put into your lumpy mail piece about your company. Call Cookie today at (716) 433-1014 to get your lumpy mail ready to reach your customers.

SEO
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) can be challenging for those that don’t understand the ever-changing rules of the game. However, whether you understand SEO or not doesn’t take away from how important it can be for your business. While there’s a lot to know, here are a few basics you should know to get started with SEO.
Images
Images are essential for an interesting website, but search engines only know the image by what it’s labeled. So the key is to name your photos appropriately when you load them to the site. For instance, if you place your logo on the site and the filename is logo.jpg it isn’t helping your SEO at all. Change it to CompanyName-logo.jpg and the search engine will find your logo when someone searches your name. Go through your site and change image names to keywords that describe your photos and your business.
Page Titles
Page titles are one of the most important items you can focus on when building your SEO. The title of each page gives you the opportunity to tell search engines what content is on each page. The title should reflect keywords that you want people to know you for and that the content on the page reflects the page title. Consider using geographical references because many users search local, such as Atlanta Printing Companies.
First 100
It is important that you know the keywords that people are searching for that will lead them to your business. Once you know what those words are you want to include them in the first 100 words on each page. The first 100 words are the most important so choose your words wisely.
In the end, keep in mind that your ultimate audience of your website is humans, not search engines. So once those humans find your site through a search, make it easy for them to do business with you.

Discussion: Winterfest 2011
Attendance this year was about 400 including 248 adults which was fewer than last year. Bad weather predictions may have been a factor. The general consensus is that having the event take place in one building is better. This will be possible for next year since the new wing of the school is complete. There was positive feedback about the activities.
Planning for Winterfest 2012 starts in April! It would be great to have more volunteers to help with the planning and organizing stage.
Thank you to Helen Feron and Heather MacDonald and all the vendors and volunteers for the great job they did.
The annual Dinner Mixer was well attended with 26 businesses represented.

What business doesn’t want to create Top Of Mind Awareness or TOMA with their customers? It means that when they need a product or service you have, your business is the one they think of.
Traditionally, TOMA has been achieved through channels such as newspapers, television, and magazines. TOMA refers to the percent of respondents who name a brand or product first when asked to list companies in that industry sector—including, but not limited to, traditional advertising channels.
But how to create TOMA? Of course TOMA is created using advertising of many forms, one of which is promotional products.

We all know about the pen with the name and phone number on it, but did you know that there are thousands of other specialty promotional items that you may be surprised exist? Take a look at this collapsible vase for example or how about hand sanitizer with your company’s name and logo on it?
In addition to the good old pen, coffee mug, calculator, drinking bottle and key chain, how about tote bags, binders, wine sets, zany bands, alarm clocks, watches and so many more. Take a look for yourself.
When you are ready to create some TOMA for your business or non-profit, give Cookie a call at Summit Print & Mail or order online. Summit Print & Mail in Lockport, NY has the advertising specialty products that you need at prices you can afford. Advertising products build customer loyalty and create TOMA.

So many companies these days are opting to send email newsletters to their customers including some very local ones.
They make it easy to get onboard to hear about their news, specials and coupon offers first. While some of the larger and more well-known companies (Constant Contact, Vertical Response, etc.) say they are only $15 for an email blast, when you see the “extras” that you pay for, you might be a bit disappointed. Not so with EZ-postoffice.com.
It’s $15 for a email list of up to 250 or your customers, and only $5 for each additional 100 addresses. We send to your customer list (no spammers here) and design your sharp-looking email too. Not so with the others, and your time is money.
Who locally is using EZ-postoffice.com? Darrell’s Place, the Carpet Doctor, Alternative Grounds Caffe, the Roy-Hart Business and Professional Association to name a few companies. As an added feature, these businesses have their coupons posted on Niagara Buzz for extra exposure.
Check it out at EZ-postoffice.com.
